Our Environmental Policy

Before taking up flying, our main pilot used to work overseas for Oxfam, the Red Cross and the UN, where he saw much environmental destruction, especially the damage caused by illegal logging. So we feel strongly that our hot air balloon flights should try to put something back into the community (we aim to donate 5% of our profits to charity), and be as environmentally responsible as possible.

Because of this commitment, we decided that we wanted to be the UK’s first - and as far as we know - only hot air balloon company offering carbon-neutral flights.

We have bought carbon offsets through the Oxford based Climate Care organization (to support wind farms in China and biomass fuel projects in Russia) to absorb the emissions of 100 hot air balloon flights during 2011-12, in a commitment to give our passengers a cleaner environment.

It makes us feel better to be taking care of our planet, and we hope you like the idea, as well.
