Bicester is a lovely town to fly over – it is easy to pick out the major landmarks in the centre of town when they are laid out beneath you like a model village underneath the hot air balloon basket. And because the hot air balloon moves so slowly, there is plenty of time to enjoy the view of Bicester from above. Our Bicester launch site is right on the edge of town at Windrushers Gliding Club.
Unlike many companies, we only fly small balloons so you can be sure of an exclusive VIP service. Our largest balloon carries only 8 passengers, and many of our flights take place in our 4 passenger balloon, meaning that your pilot will always be there to act as host, answer any questions or queries you may have, and ensure that your flight is an experience that will stay with you for many years to come.

The town of Bicester, close to the border between Oxfordshire (Oxon) and Buckinghamshire (Bucks) has a history going back to Saxon times, when the town was established by the West Saxons in the sixth century. It was called Berencestra in 1087 at the time of the Domesday Book, and much of this history is still on display from the air when flying over Bicester in one of our hot air balloons. We might see the medieval church of St. Edburg from the air, as well as Sheep Street, the Market Square and the railway stations. We also regularly see Bicester Village shopping centre from our hot air balloons.
Outside Bicester our hot air balloons regularly fly over the village of Waddesdon, where we often get a wonderful view of Waddesdon Manor (see photo). We also fly over the villages of Stratton Audley, Marsh Gibbon, Piddington & Charlton-on-Otmoor.
Whichever direction our hot air balloon flight takes us from our Bicester launch site, you are guaranteed a fascinating trip – over some of the country’s most beautiful scenery, bustling Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire market towns, and wonderful rivers and farmland.
