Come and join us for a beautiful balloon flight in the area around the town. Our hot air balloons regularly fly over the market town of Thame on the border between Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire, with wonderful views of the town’s boat-shaped High Street, the cattle market, St. Mary’s Church, the Birdcage Pub, and various other landmarks from above. We often meet outside the Swan Hotel and Pub in the centre of town before heading to our hot air balloon launch site on the edge of Thame.
Unlike many companies, we only fly small balloons so you can be sure of an exclusive VIP service. Our largest balloon carries only 8 passengers, and many of our flights take place in our 4 passenger balloon, meaning that your pilot will always be there to act as host, answer any questions or queries you may have, and ensure that your flight is an experience that will stay with you for many years to come.

Thame is a market town situated on the beautiful River Thame between Aylesbury and Oxford. From high above the ground in our hot air balloon, it is often possible to see the River Thame wending its way across the countryside – when in flood, it’s a fantastic sight. When taking off from Thame, we often see Bicester, Aylesbury, Chinnor, Princes Risborough, Didcot, Wheatley and Oxford during our hot air balloon flights, and we regularly fly over the villages of Haddenham, Long Crendon, Brill, Stone and Oakley, as well as Waddesdon Manor.
On the third Thursday of September the town stages the Oxfordshire County and Thame Show which is the largest one day agricultural show in the United Kingdom. Altitude Balloons is based in Thame, and each year we organise the hot air balloon fly-out from the Thame Show
Whichever direction our hot air balloon ride takes us from our Thame launch site, you are guaranteed a fascinating trip – over some of the country’s most beautiful scenery, bustling Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire market towns, and wonderful rivers and farmland.
